Ritual Practice is a top-down, cosmic horror adventure game. You play as Aida, a cartographer that sets out to map out dark, uncharted woods.

However, light and darkness do not behave naturally in this place,

and she soon discovers a strange artifact with unforseeable consequences…

My Responsibilities in Short

•Art direction and modelling 3D assets in Blender.

•Designing and setting up levels in Unity using a homemade tile-based tool.

•Designing look and feel of environment using Unity’s terrain tool.

•Producing 2D assets in Photoshop e.g. map and button prompts.

•Contributing to discussions on game mechanics and world design.

Key Learnings

Ritual Practice was made by a group of 6 students for a course on game world design exploring the genre of cosmic horror and weird fiction. Tackling multiple courses that semester and meeting every Wednesday evening to create this game, I’m proud of what it became and to see the attention it attracted from players on itch.io.
